My Current-USA Fixture as well as replacement CFLs and ballasts have been purchased since 2006 from Drs. Foster and Smith.
I have experienced a meltdown of a cable socket for one of the CFLs. How can I obtain a replacement for the cable socket. Also, I am suspicious of the ballast or the CFL being the cause of this problem. Can you recommend a test proceedure to avoid a repeat of this problem. I have one spare CFL. Should I also be ordering a spare ballast.
From you current online brochure, it appears the 130W Dual Daylight CFL (square pin) has already been discontinued. At my next bulb change I may want to change over to the straight pin bulds or are they going to be discontinued also. Would you please send me the cable-socket and a wiring diagram to do this change.
Dear Mr. Iverson,
Thank you for contacting Current-USA, Inc. If the socket melted on your fixture due to arcing, its best to change out both the socket and ballast. You can purchase them pre-wired directly from the manufacturer here:
Our 130w lamps are still available and will be for some time. You can purchase them from Drs. Fosters & Smith.
